Description
Distinguished from rabbits by their larger body size, longer legs and much larger hind feet. Have black tips to their long ears and their tails have a black stripe on the back.
When
All year, are particularly active in March when their courtship involves spectacular leaping and chasing with occasional boxing.
Where
Are present round most of the island but are most commonly seen on the pasture land in the south. Also spend time on the beaches.
